Our regs4yachts team consists of ex-MCA and Cayman Islands Lead Surveyors who have an in-depth knowledge of the requirements of an ISM system and how it can be effectively applied in an operational environment. ISPS Support and CSO ServicesWe have an excellent record in helping our customers comply with the ISPS Code and delivering CSO services.
Technical SupportRegs4yachts offer technical support to yachts to augment our DPA services. Training ServicesFor the safety for all persons onboard and for the owner's peace of mind, it is vital for a yacht to continuously evolve its safety culture. Regs4yachts has developed training packages which can be rapidly and efficiently adopted by any yacht. Our expert instructors will provide training specifically tailored to the needs of the yacht and its crew. Our training is focused in the following three areas:
These three 2-day courses can be amalgamated into a single 5-day training session. Fire Safety Training ServicesFire-Fighting Techniques - Turning the mandatory training the crew will have undertaken at the fire training school and tailoring it to your yacht, so your crew become a cohesive fire-fighting team with confidence in their leaders, ready to deal with any possible fire onboard. Regs4yachts have expert instructors who can provide onboard refresher courses and incorporate our experience, together with the latest techniques for tackling realistic fires onboard any vessel. Engine Room / High-Risk Compartment Entry Procedures - Training in fire entry procedures to high fire risk areas of the vessel, including engine room, laundry, lazarette and galley. Your crew will be trained to make safe and efficient risk assessments prior to entry. Regs4yachts training will deal with all hazards involved in tackling fires in high-risk spaces including those with harmful substances. Fire Suit Donning and SCBA Checks - When fire is detected, immediate action to attack and extinguish it is essential. Our training will enable your crew to get to their muster stations and quickly and efficiently put on their fire suits and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment and then enter compartments and fight fires, secure in the knowledge that their equipment has been properly maintained and they have a highly competent back-up team to support them. Enclosed Space Rescue - After recent deaths from asphyxiation in enclosed spaces in ships, regs4yachts now provide training for yacht crews who may be unpractised in accessing enclosed spaces. The attending instructor will help the crew in identifying all enclosed spaces onboard and the safest means of entry for each one. Yacht Safety Training ServicesMan Overboard - Training includes immediate action on losing someone overboard and extends to actions many hours after the initial loss. Procedures for situations where missing crew or passengers may have been lost overboard, including rapid and effective vessel search procedures are included. Training at sea or in port is available. Using and Wearing Lifejackets - Lifejackets which are regularly maintained and properly worn will save the lives of crew who fall into the water, particularly if they are, or become, unconscious. We provide training in all aspects of using and wearing lifejackets from day-to-day tasks, such as driving a tender to abandoning ship and entering the water from a height. Abandon Ship Procedures - We can provide training for every aspect of abandoning ship; accurate and timely distress alerts, safe and efficient mustering of crew and passengers, launching life rafts, boarding practices and methods to enhance being located, as well as instructions on how to stay alive over prolonged periods. Procedural Compliance Training ServicesBusiness and Law Refresher - An opportunity for the senior members of the yacht's crew to enhance their awareness of statutory obligations placed on the Master of any vessel. We strongly recommend that Masters themselves attend a refresher at least every other year to keep themselves updated on new developments and remind themselves of the importance of a properly-run and well-maintained yacht. Training includes how to mitigate circumstances which might otherwise result in prosecution and well-rehearsed exercises are undertaken which emphasise the considerable responsibilities held by Masters. This is an excellent course for any Master to attend. ISM Training - Our experts will conduct a mini audit/review of an in-place Safety Management System and make observations and recommendations accordingly. Bespoke training based on the recommendations will then commence onboard and new responsibilities to make the Safety Management System resilient and robust for the future will be delegated to the appropriate officers and crew. Navigation Training - There are always pressures to depart from a port, especially if a yacht is on charter. The temptation to become complacent whilst en route to your next port, using a poorly prepared passage plan and uncorrected charts can be irresistible. Have a great refresher course and handy tips for short cuts to safe navigation which can be used when pressed for time. We will train you in efficient passage-planning, chart and publication corrections, fixing the vessel's position by all available means (visual, radar, soundings and satellite positioning), blind pilotage, bridge procedures, ECDIS and manoeuvring. | ||
